In this blog, narratives of people, places, and activities are preserved in honor of the resilient New Mexican culture. By uncovering the mystical, the humorous, the dangerous, the artisanal, and the traditional one can come to know the aesthetics of enchantment.

Hi Joe,
What a wonderful blog! Do you know what year the church was built?
Hi Vic,
Word on the plaza is that it was built between 1610 and 1626. Evidence suggests that the site was occupied by Native peoples circa 1300. Some claim that there was actually a prior San Miguel mission church in Socorro, NM.
Hey Joe, I like the blog man. So I actually go to mass at San Miguel once a month or so. The current priest there, Ricardo Russo, did our wedding. Small world. Also, there's a decent pizza shop right next door for fueling up afterwards. God works in mysterious ways - sometimes I find that it's through pizza.
Thanks Kev. I think this blog will continue to make it pretty clear that the soul is connected to the stomach. Stay tuned because I think Tomas is planning on posting some authentic NM recipes.
